How to buy Shoe
Tips to consider before buying a new pair of track shoes.
There are 2 different types of track shoes; training shoes and race shoes. Everyone needs a pair of shoes for training. every step results in about 250-300 pounds of force to your feet. The right shoes not only protect your feet, but your knees, hips, and back as well. Training shoes will have a thick sole and plenty of support in the heel and forefoot to protect the entire body from the stress of running.
Race shoes have very thin soles and will sometimes have a hard plastic sole under the forefoot predrilled for spikes. It is not necessary for every athlete to have a pair of race shoes. Only about 10% of athletes participating in track should have race shoes.
Be sure to spend 10 minutes reviewing the following links before you but a pair of shoes. This knowledge will help pick the proper shoes
This year, I've found the best deals to be at Sports Authority and Nike Outlet. Both of these places have good quality training shoes for $50 -$75. However, if you're willing to spend an extra $15-$25, I recommend Fleet Feet. The salespeople have knowledge about how each shoe is constructed and how each shoe is constructed and how to diagnose running styles and needs. Be prepared to have the salesperson analyze your current shoes and watch shoes and watch you run so they can recommend the proper shoes for you.
